Hey fit fam!
We are here to answer the top 5 questions we receive from those interested in taking barre classes! Comment with any additional questions or answers you may have!
Q: What is barre?
A: Barre is a form of fitness derived from ballet that gives you tone, lean muscles, increases mobility, balance, and strength, and makes you sweat every time! Through sprints and recoveries, we work our muscles to fatigue, take a moment to stretch, and start all over again. Our movements are low impact, making our classes ideal for people of all ages, shapes & sizes!
Q: Can I take class if I'm injured or pregnant?
A: Yes! Let your instructor know so they can guide you through the workout with modifications to keep you safe.
Q: What should I wear to class?
A: Wear something you can move in because we will be moving the entire body! We also ask that all clients wear barre socks- those socks with the grips on the bottom- to ensure you don't slip & injure yourself. Socks can be purchased at the studio.
Q: What classes does Elements offer?
A: We offer a multitude of classes for all different levels!
Our signature Elements class Barre/Toned is our spin on the classic barre class. Here, you'll work in sprints & recoveries, with low impact movements that will leave you feeling the burn!
Other classes include Barre/Sweat, a more intense- and even sweatier!- version of Barre/Toned; Barre/Dance, a mixture of isometric, barre based movements & choreographed, dance cardio; Express Classes, these classes pack all of the punch of an hour long class into just a half an hour or less!
Q: What class should I take if I'm a beginner?
A: Our Barre/Toned class is one of our signature Elements classes that incorporates all aspects of barre fitness. During this class, we explain how to execute the movement and what muscles should be working hard. Once you get accustomed to the lingo & positions, you can take other Elements signature classes, such as Barre/Sweat (which offers more intensity) or Barre/Dance (for a choreography, cardio driven experience)!
